Players have several ingredients to choose from in “Cooking Mama: Cuisine!” Depending on what they pick, players can create different dishes. This creates a sense of discovery as players learn what ingredients lead to certain dishes. It also means players have more control over what virtual food they create, so vegans and vegetarians can have a seat at the table. An aspiring chef would rifle through the fridge and pantry and then formulate a dinner based on the ingredients at hand.
It’s supposed to mimic how one would cook at home, game director Tomoaki Matsui said. Office Create flips this idea around in “Cuisine!” Players choose ingredients and that brings up a series of cooking minigames, and a dish is presented at the end.

It’s a transition that works well with touchscreen as players perform simple minigames to cook. With “Cooking Mama: Cuisine!,” Office Create adapts the popular franchise to Apple’s platform. The additions deliver a familiar package of fun with a bit of twist. and the other is “Air Twister” from Yu Suzuki, creator of several legendary Sega games. The first is “Cooking Mama: Cuisine!” from Office Create Corp. Apple Arcade is bolstering its offerings this month with two familiar names from Japan.
